2025 Points 1 – Index

The 2025 Atlanta Region Solo season kicked off in full force on March 2nd with Points Event 1 at Atlanta Motor Speedway. Clear skies and cool temps made for excellent conditions, and the course layout rewarded precision and hustle in equal measure. A total of 127 drivers took to the pavement, with tight battles throughout the field and some spectacular performances to open the season.

Let’s dive into the highlights and those class battles that came down to the wire:

Street Classes Bring the Heat

In B Street, Thomas Koh set the pace in his 2025 Toyota GR Supra with a blazing 55.630. The battle behind him was fierce, with Michael Bilyy and Ihor Bilyy separated by 2.925 seconds for the final podium spots.

C Street featured one of the day’s most dramatic spreads. Aaron Kemmer dominated in his 2022 Mazda MX-5 Miata with a clean 55.717, but the fight for second was a nail-biter. Jennifer Brown held on with a 61.965, edging out Eric Bernstein by just 0.592 seconds in a competitive 5-car field.

D Street: The Closest Battle of the Day

If you blinked, you missed it. The D Street class was an all-out war, with the top four drivers separated by just 0.700 seconds! Thomas Gorman emerged victorious with a 57.753 driving a Suburu BRZ, narrowly beating Dean Richardson’s Elantra N by 0.355 seconds. Layne Lindemann and John Godwin were right behind, finishing just 0.267 and 0.078 seconds off the next spot, respectively. That’s the kind of class where every cone and throttle input mattered.

Tight Touring Action

A Street Touring (AST) saw a clean sweep by Shanna Richardson in her 2019 Mazda MX-5 with a 58.833, but she had to earn it—Tim Maley was just 0.848 seconds behind in a fierce fight for first.

Over in B Street Touring (BST), David Zemon made an early-season statement with a scorching 55.089. But it wasn’t without pressure—Clay Horste and Jeffrey Ling kept the pressure on, both finishing within 1.0 second of the lead. Ling, in particular, edged out Horste for third by a razor-thin 0.020 seconds.

C Street Touring (CST) saw Trever Degioanni bring home the win in his BMW M3 with a best of 59.932, just 0.774 seconds ahead of Justin Weronick’s Miata.

E Street and G Street: Youth and Experience Collide

E Street showcased an exciting mix of generations as Jeremy McGinnis took top honors with a 58.040. Allen Joiner and Philip Rodning were in a tight fight for the second trophy spot, with Rodning finishing just 0.123 seconds behind.

In G Street, David Cox piloted his Civic Si to a class win with a 58.336, while the Volkswagen GTIs of Jonathan Dove and Thomas Simon battled hard for second and third, finishing 0.689 seconds apart.

Other Notables

  • Super Street saw Elizabeth Richardson lay down a commanding 65.585 in her 2024 Corvette.
  • In F Street, Alena Sabitava showed consistent form to take the solo trophy.
  • The lone E Prepared entry, Austin Umstattd, shook off an early 85-second run to bring it down to an impressive 60.949.
  • Street Modified FWD was a family affair, with Michael Hernandez taking the win in his 1993 Honda Civic at 61.087, while Jacob Hernandez followed behind.
