The Atlanta SCCA is proposing changes to its bylaws. We are working with the national office to schedule a ballot.
There are five general types of changes:
- Correcting grammar, spelling, and punctuation errors (e.g., “electric mail” to “electronic mail”).
- Removing gender specific pronouns (e.g., replacing “his” with “their,” or “he/she” with “the Regional Executive”).
- Removing confusing language about the role of a departing Region Executive on the Board.
- Clarifying that Term Limits only apply in cases where a member is offering to replace the incumbent. In other words, if no one is running to replace a director or officer, they may continue to serve additional terms.
- Making the keeping of a physical office to be optional, rather than required.
